Helen Pender

Helen was trained at Performers College in Essex under the direction of TV choreographer and director, Brian Rogers, and ISTD fellow and examiner, Susan Stephens.

She completed a 3 year professional dance and theatre course and gained her ISTD Associate teaching qualifications with distinction in tap and modern theatre. Following success in the annual college choreographic awards, she also choreographed pieces for the end of year college show and worked as a part-time jazz teacher at a local dance school. Helen was the overall senior winner of the ISTD Star Tap Awards in 1995 with her own choreographed solo.

Professional performance work includes television, summer seasons, pantomimes and cabarets with names such as Jimmy Cricket, Derek Griffiths and Danny La Rue. Helen was also assistant choreographer to Brian Rogers for a number of events.

Helen is Principal of The Stage Factory and teaches the majority of tap classes as well as choreographing many of our title winning group competition teams.
