About Us

The Stage Factory was established in February 2005 and is run by Helen Pender MIPATH, a former professional dancer and singer. We offer a variety of dance and theatre classes for children and also an adult tap class.

The school provides professional dance and theatre training in a fun, friendly but disciplined environment. We cater for all abilities and needs from the “once a week” child to those dreaming of a dance career.  Former students have gained places at some of the UK’s top vocational colleges including Bird College, Performers College and SLP College.

Attending our classes helps to build a child’s confidence, as well as improving performance skills, musicality, co-ordination, flexibility and fitness.  We instill strong teamwork values and sportsmanship as well as encouraging pupils to shine individually.

Every year, pupils have the opportunity to be part of our successful competition team.  Over the years, the team have won several titles and performed at the Blackpool Opera House and The M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool. In 2015, we performed at “Dance Proms” at the Royal Albert Hall – a prestigious event in the world of dance.  In 2019, and again from 2022 to 2025, we provided juvenile dancers for the professional pantomime at the M&S Bank Arena Auditorium in Liverpool.

We’ve gained a strong reputation for producing “slick”, “entertaining” and “professional” annual shows at the Theatre Royal, St Helens.  We also offer Ofqual regulated examinations in ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical with fresh and innovative syllabi provided by I-PATH (International Performing Arts & Theatre).

The Stage Factory has grown tremendously in the space of 21 years, from a small school offering 4 classes per week to a large, successful school offering 40 classes per week.   Through a lot of hard work and commitment, we’ve established ourselves as one of the top dance schools in the area.
